Alfred R. Ketterl, Sr. 84, of Danbury, beloved husband of Alice Jean (Vandenhoeck) Ketterl, died peacefully at Hancock Hall on Sunday, June 17, 2012. He was born on January 17, 1928 in Queens NY, son of the late Joseph and Katherine Ketterl.
He was a graduate of City College in the NYC. He was employed at IBM Corporation as a Financial Assurance Specialist and Union Pacific Railroad.
Al lived with Alice in Brookfield for many years while raising their children where they attended the Brookfield schools. They later retired to Littleton, NC and Acworth, GA.
He was a member of the Greater Danbury Bowling Association. He enjoyed golf and attending his children and grandchildren’s sports activities. His children and grandchildren were always a top priority in his life.
He was a fun loving person with a ready smile. Even in the last few years, during his illness, he enjoyed having visitors greeting them with a smile and a laugh.
