On July 10, Deputy First Class Brandon Kilgore received the Paulding County Board of Commissioners Public Safety Award at the board’s regularly scheduled meeting. The Public Safety Award is presented to a law enforcement officer every quarter by the Board of Commissioners for exemplary service to Paulding County.
According to a news release, Kilgore is a member of the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Division. Since Kilgore was promoted to a canine handler in January, he has excelled by making multiple felony drug arrests as well as apprehending several fleeing felons utilizing his K-9 partner, Hondo.
“With Deputies like DFC Kilgore, our county will remain a safe, drug-free place to live and work,” Sheriff Gary Gulledge said in the release.
Kilgore was also presented with a gift certificate for dinner at Texas Roadhouse, which was graciously donated by the restaurant.
