Why We Formed a Relay Team
We have dedicated this team in support and honor of a dear friend, Laura Turner. Many of you may know Laura as she has lived and worked in Paulding County for many years and touched many lives from the kindergartners she teaches to the fellow fans and opponents she meets at the many baseball, football and basketball games she attends. She has battled cancer twice and always has a smile on her face and a kind word to say. She continually gives of herself by volunteering in school activities and coaching the little tiny tots at Burnt Hickory Park. She is one of the strongest women we are blessed to know and she's an encouragement to each of us every day. She is walking proof that this disease CAN be beat and together we will walk and work to raise funds to find a cure. Using our school mascot (the Wolfpack) for inspiration, we are joining together with a common bond and Turner's "Pack" will walk to find a cure!
At the event, our team will camp out overnight and take turns walking around the track to raise money and awareness to help the American Cancer Society in the world?s largest fight for more birthdays. If you can come to the event please find our campsite as we will be selling our famous "Pack Patties" (ie.. fried oreos) to raise additional funds through the night.
If you are able, please join our team and help us fundraise. If you aren't able to do that, please consider a donation to aid in research and programs to support cancer patients and survivors. If you have a loved one that has passed away from this disease or is a survivor please consider dedicating a luminaria in their honor or memory. There are so many ways to help!
Thanks for your support of Turner's Pack!!
