2 Hiram Residents Busted on Drug Charges

They allegedly had 7.7 pounds of marijuana.

Four people, including two Hiram residents, have been arrested on drug-related charges after police found more than seven pounds of marijuana in their Kennesaw Extended Stay America Hotel room.

About 8:45 p.m. Sunday, there was a strong odor of marijuana coming from the room at the Busbee Drive hotel. When officers opened the door "smoke came billowing out," a Cobb police officer wrote in a Cobb County criminal warrant.

Marijuana, a glass pipe with marijuana residue and a glass jar containing marijuana were "found in plain view," according to the warrant.

Officers obtained a search warrant and found even more drugs.

"A scale and several other glass jars of marijuana were found," the officer wrote. "The quantity of the marijuana discovered and the presence of the digital scale are consistent with distribution of marijuana."
