5 Things To Know Today

Just a few things to think about at the start of your week.

1. Expect few changes in the workweek's temperatures, according to the National Weather Service, which also says there is a 20 percent chance of rain Wednesday night but currently no other mentions of it through Friday.

Today's high of 50 will drop to a low tonight about 26 degrees. Tuesday's forecast is expected to be partly sunny, high near 55, low around 30 at night. Wednesday, expect partly sunny skies, high near 53, with the night's low around 31. High/low temps for Thursday and Friday are 49/28 and 47/26, respectively, with partly sunny skies continuing during those two days.

2. Students in Paulding County Schools return to class Tuesday, while teachers came back to school today for a workday, so expect travel times for your morning commute to return to normal.

3. The Hiram City Council is scheduled to hold its monthly meeting Tuesday, Jan. 11, at 6:30 p.m., instead of on the first Tuesday of the month due to the recent holidays. A work session is set to precede it at 5:30 p.m. Look for more coverage on the city here on Patch in the coming days.

4. For those who still have live Christmas trees that need to be disposed, "Bring One for the Chipper" continues this week at Home Depot, 145 Depot Drive, Hiram.

5. Those looking for work may want to read the first edition our Local Job Alert, a weekly offering that focuses on five jobs available in Dallas and Hiram.
