Arrest Made in Bank of America Robbery

Authorities made the arrest Monday morning in Roswell less than two days after the robbery occurred in Hiram.

Authorities Monday made an arrest in connection with the Saturday afternoon robbery at the Bank of America branch in Hiram.

Devin Johnson of Powder Springs, 28, faces one count of robbery after being apprehended at a friend’s house in Roswell about 10:30 a.m., according to Detective Donald Roberts of the Hiram Police Department.

Roberts said that while authorities could not get into the details of what led to Johnson’s arrest, he said officials had recovered a portion of the money taken in the Saturday incident. The amount taken in the robbery, he added, was “not substantial.”

He said Saturday’s robbery saw a lone perpetrator walk into the bank about 12:20 p.m. and hand the teller a note demanding money.

“He never said a word to her. He took the money and ran out the door and jumped into a getaway car,” Roberts said.

Authorities believe Johnson was working alone in the robbery, Roberts said, and no other suspects are being sought at this time.

Other law enforcement agencies are speaking to Johnson, Roberts added, as they investigate unsolved bank robberies.

Prior to Saturday’s incident, Roberts said the last bank robbery to occur in Hiram is believed to be an incident that occurred May 2010 at Bank of North Georgia.

Glad they caught the robber!!! What is this world coming to??? I wished people would think before they do stupid things like this. It not only hurts themselves, but also the ones that love them. Money is not worth giving up your freedom or being able to be with your loved ones. I wished people would think twice before doing stupid things like this.
