Officials from the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday reported the safe return of a man who had gone missing from his residence last week.

William Carl Childers, 44, went missing from his residence Thursday afternoon. The sheriff's office on Friday said family members believe that he may have had intentions of suicide. On Saturday, officials said a phone call he made to his wife seemed to support the family’s concerns.

But after being missing a few days, Childers was found over the Labor Day weekend.

“Childers is safe and in good health and with his family,” PCSO Cpl. Ashley Henson said in a release Tuesday.
