Benefit with Freebies to Help Paulding Animal Control Shelter
Both Stars and Strikes for bowling and Sparkles for skating continue to offer special deals.

This week, Frugal Family reporter Carolyn Cunningham scoured our local sources to come up with a free parking lot party at Stars and Strikes, a fun fundraiser for Paulding County Animal Control, season passes at Sparkles, a reopening party at Floor It with freebies and a free shredding event and family festival in Douglas County by the Douglas / Carroll / Paulding Chapter of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority:
1. Animal Control Fundraiser
Deal: Tender Loving Pet Grooming will host a fundraiser for Paulding County Animal Control. Festivities will include a silent auction, expo booths, a cake walk, $5 pet pedicures, a raffle, a Krispy Kreme fundraiser and refreshments. When you bring a donation of pet food or litter, you will receive a ticket for a drawing.
Hours: Saturday, noon to 6 p.m., with bluegrass concert from 4 to 7 p.m.

2. Stars and Strikes Parking Lot Party
Deal: Among Saturday's attractions at the family entertainment center will be a huge children's area, face painting, vendors, a DJ, live entertainment and lots of prizes.
Hours: Saturday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Location: Corner of Ga. 92 and 120 (Dallas Highway), Dallas.

3. Sparkles Season Passes
Deal: This Saturday is the start of the season pass season at Sparkles in Hiram. For $50, an individual season pass—for anyone 16 and younger—pays for unlimited skating admission and skate rental during any public session for 14 weeks through Aug. 31. At $125, a family pass includes unlimited skating admission and skate rental for up to four people—also during any public session but with one adult required to be present with each group.
Certain restrictions apply. For instance, there is only one admission per person per day. This special may not be used on Friday nights or during special events.
Good through: Saturday - Aug. 31.

4. Freebies at Floor It Reopening
Deal: Floor It Carpets Plus Colortile in Dallas will host its reopening this weekend. Among the attractions will be free food, beverages, door prizes and games and inflatables for the kids.
Also, local businesses are invited to showcase their items at the event. Business owners should call 770-445-6228 for their free reservation.

5. Free Shredding and May Family Festival with Delta Sigma Theta
Deal: Members of the Douglas / Carroll / Paulding Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. invite everyone to join them for a free community shredding opportunity on Saturday in Douglas County. There is no limit to the number or kind of documents that will be shredded safely.
Also, free games, health screenings, educational and cultural awareness activities, international food sampling and more food and a Moon Walk will be offered as a part of the sorority's community block party.
Location: Deer Lick Park Family Fun Center, 2171 Mack Road off Ga. 92 and south of I-20, Douglasville.
