'Bring One for the Chipper' to Recycle Your Christmas Tree

Start the new year with an environmentally friendly solution.

Part of a statewide effort to recycle Christmas trees for use as mulch on playgrounds and in beautification projects and yards, Bring One for the Chipper is Keep Georgia Beautiful's annual Christmas tree recycling program.

An affiliate of Keep Georgia Beautiful, Home Depot in Hiram is set to accept Christmas trees for recycling Saturday, Jan. 8.

Sponsored by Keep Paulding Beautiful and the city of Dallas, the store will accept the trees from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 145 Depot Drive.

Home Depot in Hiram is actually already accepting trees - I dropped mine off today. There is a pile started on the Depot Drive side of the building, sort of roped off with caution tape and shopping carts. Just be sure to take off all ornaments and tinsel! I saw several trees still sparkling with those stringy icicles.
