Those hoping to join the Paulding County Chamber of Commerce in celebrating 51 years of operation—or those merely looking to see nationally syndicated talk show host Neal Boortz speak in person—have little time to secure their seat at a dinner event next week.
About 20 tickets remained as of Tuesday to the Chamber’s annual seated dinner, which will be held at the Paulding County Senior Community Center Thursday, Jan. 26. The event will begin with a cocktail hour at 6 and dinner service beginning at 7.
The remaining tickets are being sold at $125 apiece or $1,500 for a reserved table of 10, if available.
“We’re feeling really good about [the ticket sales]—a great response to our speaker and a great response from our community,” said Kevin Kirby, the Chamber’s director of Member Services.
Boortz, who can be heard locally and across the metro Atlanta area on WSB Radio, is serving as the event’s keynote speaker. Attendees also will see the Chamber give out its annual Citizen of the Year, Business of the Year and Ambassador of the Year awards. Kirby said the three winners have been determined, but recipients will not know until their name is called.
“We notify people in their circle so we make sure they’re there, but we try to keep that under wraps until that night and let it be a surprise for everyone,” Kirby said, adding that award winners will have an opportunity to speak at the event.
The event also will see outgoing Chamber Chairman Jim Ashworth with OneSource Facility Solutions officially passing the gavel to this year’s chairman, Caric Martin with DC Bank.
