Time is short to make charitable donations that will apply to the 2011 tax year.

What charities will you be donating items or money to before the end of the year?

This is the busiest week of the year for Goodwill of North Georgia, according to Director of Public Relations Elaine Armstrong.

“We encourage families to gather items now because with the hustle and bustle of the holidays, it’s easy to forget items you intended to donate,” Armstrong said.

Goodwill has more than 100 locations, including one in Hiram, and accepts items such as clothing, books, furniture and household items.

Donations made by the end of this week can be applied to this tax year.
