Commissioners Extend Contract For Reservoir Process

Commissioners unanimously approved three measures in a quick business session Tuesday night.

Paulding Commissioners wasted little time giving approving votes to three items brought before them at Tuesday night’s board meeting.

Following commissioners’ approval, the county will extend an $85,700 contract with RLH Group LLC to get through the permitting process for its new reservoir.

Also receiving approval was a $308,733.30 bid from TMI Services Inc. for countywide line striping and traffic signage, as well as an application for a new alcohol license at Goodwill Shell, 3601 Macland Road in Hiram, for off-premises consumption of malt beverages and wine.

Commissioner David Barnett at the end of the meeting promoted Northside Elementary’s Feb. 6 event at East Paulding High that will see the Harlem Wizards play a basketball team fielded by Northside staff and supporters. Advance ticket sales are $8, with tickets at the door going for $10; proceeds from the PTA-sponsored event will benefit students.

Commissioner Larry Ragsdale was not present at the meeting. Board Chairman David Austin told those in attendance that Ragsdale’s absence was due to illness.
