Crash Sends Hiram Man to Hospital
A second driver involved in the two-vehicle crash on Highway 92 in Hiram Monday afternoon was not taken for treatment.
A Hiram man was taken to the hospital Monday afternoon after sustaining injuries in a two-vehicle crash authorities say he caused.
According to officials with the Georgia State Patrol, the crash at Highway 92 at Bill Carruth Parkway occurred when a 2008 Ford Ranger made a left turn in front of a 2007 Kenworth.
The Ford driver, 48-year-old Douglas Stevens of Hiram, was taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital and will be charged with failing to yield while turning left, GSP officials told Dallas-Hiram Patch. The Kenworth was driven by 47-year-old Darren Keith McWhorter of Dallas, who was checked at the scene.
The crash led Paulding County safety officials to issue at about 2:15 p.m. an alert cautioning drivers to avoid Highway 92’s southbound lane in the wake of the crash.
