'Family Fun Day' Set For Saturday at Stars and Strikes
Saturday's fundraiser for the American Cancer Society only costs $5 at the Raccoon Creek Music Park in Dallas.

This week, Frugal Family reporter Carolyn Cunningham scoured our local sources to come up with Saturday's "Spring into Savings" at Stars and Strikes, "Cousins for a Cure" Benefit Show at Raccoon Creek Music Park on Saturday, Thursday's Military Appreciation Night at Sparkles, free t-shirts at the first City of Dallas blood drive on Monday and a charity golf tournament next Wednesday:
1. "Family Fun Day" at Stars and Strikes
Deal: This free event will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Stars and Strikes parking lot at the corner of Dallas Highway (Ga. 120) and Ga. 92.
Among the activities will be:
- Easter Egg Hunt at noon
- Easter Bunny and High School Mascots on site
- More than 75 vendors
- Strolling clown
- Arts and crafts
- Huge children's area with six to nine inflatables
- Horse rides
- Face painting
- Crafts for children
- Games
- Prizes every half hour
- Live entertainment

2. Cancer Fundraiser on Saturday
Deal: A $5 donation is requested at the Raccoon Creek Music Park in Dallas from noon to 10 p.m. Saturday. All proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life.
The "Cousins for a Cure Cancer Fundraiser" will feature 11 local bands playing bluegrass and bluegrass gospel music. There also will be barbecue served and a Silent Auction.
Tickets may be purchased at the gate. No smoking, no alcohol and no pets are allowed.

3. Military Appreciation Night and Dad and Me Night at Sparkles
Deal: Anyone with a valid military ID will receive free admission on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Sparkles on Jimmy Lee Smith Parkway next to Walmart in Hiram.
Also that night, all dads skate free when accompanied by a paying child. All children will receive free pizza and soda with paid admission.
Skate rental is additional at $3.50.

4. Free T-shirts at Dallas Blood Drive
Deal: Free t-shirts will be given to those who donate blood on Monday in downtown Dallas. The inaugural City of Dallas "Community Gives Back" Blood Drive at the Dallas Civic Center, 129 East Griffin St. behind the Dallas Theater, will be held Monday. Hours are 1 to 6 p.m.

5. Cops for Kids Golf Tournament
Deal: This deal is more for Paulding children in need, especially at Christmas. Paulding County Sheriff Gary Gulledge presents the 11th Annual Cops for Kids Golf Tournament next Wednesday at the Creekside Golf & Country Club in Hiram. All proceeds are used to provide Christmas and other needs throughout the year for less fortunate children in Paulding. At Christmas, employees from the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office take these children shopping with a designated amount of money, depending on donations. Last Christmas, they took about 250 children shopping and spent around $39,000.
Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place, longest drive and closest to pin. A Chick-fil-A lunch will be served in the clubhouse.
The tournament is limited to 35 teams. Registration is $75 per golfer or $300 for a foursome. You may register online at www.pauldingcopsforkids.com.

Another deal is at Sam's Club off Depot Drive at U.S. 278 and Ga. 92 in Hiram on Friday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. You can shop without having to pay the membership fee. The circular we received also said there will be free food samples.
