Hiram Council To See 2013 Budget Draft

Councilmen tonight will see a preliminary version of the city’s fiscal year 2013 budget. Return to Dallas-Hiram Patch on Wednesday for coverage of tonight’s council meeting.

Hiram’s fiscal year 2013 could begin to take shape tonight, as councilmen are slated to review a draft budget.

That preliminary budget, along with the 2012 tax digest and 5-year history of levy information also set to be presented to the council tonight, will be made available for public review on Wednesday, giving citizens a week to review it before the council’s next meeting—a work session has been scheduled for Oct. 10 at 6 p.m., with a public hearing on the budget beginning immediately after the work session.

In other business, councilmen are slated to:

  • Enter into closed session to discuss property acquisition and pending or potential litigation.
  • Consider adoption of a resolution to establish procedure and requirements for processing open records requests submitted to the city.

The Hiram City Council meets at 6:30 p.m. in the Hiram Community Center/Council Chambers at 217 Main St. The meeting is open to the public.
