Man, Reported Missing Wednesday, Found Safe

Allen Lamar Boles had left his home Wednesday morning and was reported missing after 11 p.m.

The Paulding County Sheriff’s Office Friday announced that a local man reported missing late Wednesday was found safe.

Allen Lamar Boles left his home Wednesday morning to take a walk and was later seen walking near Paulding County High School about 11 a.m. About 12 hours later, his wife reported him missing; just before that, Boles had been dropped off at a gas station in Douglasville after Douglasville Police picked him up and discovered that he had no warrants against him nor had been reported missing at that time.

PCSO Cpl. Ashley Henson told Dallas-Hiram Patch about 9:45 a.m. Friday that Boles had not been found, but within 45 minutes, deputies learned of Boles' whereabouts and determined that he was safe.

“Investigators have indicated that Mr. Boles does not wish for anyone to know where he was located and that he appreciates everyone’s efforts and concerns,” PCSO Cpl. Ashley Henson said. “Although this situation thankfully did not end in tragedy, we are all familiar with what can happen without the quick response of law enforcement and the media.”
