Paulding, Haralson Authorities Seize 3.5 Pounds of Meth
The seizure followed a year-and-a-half-long investigation. Two were arrested following the seizure.
On Wednesday, members of the Haralson-Paulding Drug Task Force (HPDTF) along with the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team and K-9 Unit, Dallas Police Department K-9 Unit and the Haralson County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at 1155 Rainey Lake Road in Buchanan.
According to a news release Monday, the SWAT Team entered the residence just before dawn without incident. After an extensive search of the 19-acre property and residence was completed by the HPDTF Agents and K-9 units, about 3.5 pounds of crystal methamphetamine, along with a firearm, were found. The street value of the meth found is estimated to be around $90,000
Kevin Womack, 52, was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. Also arrested was Denise Powell, 48, who was charged with trafficking in methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute.
The year-and-a half-long investigation was completed by agents of the Haralson-Paulding Drug Task Force with assistance from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit as well as the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
