Paulding under Tornado Watch until 11 p.m.

Residents should also be prepared for scattered severe thunderstorms.

Paulding is among many Georgia counties currently under a tornado watch, which is set to expire at 11 tonight.

In addition to the threat of possible tornadoes, the National Weather Service says residents should be prepared for hazardous weather in the form of scattered severe thunderstorms, with damaging winds and isolated tornadoes possible with any severe storms. The weather service says the most likely time for severe weather is from 4 to 9 p.m.

Officials from the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office in a Nixle alert warned residents to pay attention to weather conditions and seek shelter should thunder and/or lightning occur.

Other weather conditions expected include a 100 percent chance of precipitation this afternoon and evening, and winds of 10 mph with gusts as high as 20 mph this afternoon; winds should slow to 5 to 10 mph then become calm tonight
