It remains to be seen if and when Paulding residents will get the chance to vote on whether to allow Sunday package sales of alcohol in the county.
Paulding County commissioners had been set to consider Thursday afternoon a resolution that would establish a voter referendum on whether to allow package sales on Sunday. But commissioners at their morning work session learned that state regulations would prevent them from putting the issue in front of voters this year.
If commissioners consider putting the issue in front of voters next year, the referendum could appear on the ballot of a special called election in March or during November’s general election. But either election would incur some expense on the county since all of its voting precincts would not normally be in operation at those times.
Instead of waiting for a possible vote to come next year, we want to know this week where you stand on the issue: Do you support Sunday package sales of alcohol in Paulding County?
Cast your vote in the poll below, and tell us in the comments why you would or would not support the issue—give us a good answer, and we may use your comments in a future story.
We’ll keep the poll open through Friday at 9 a.m.
