The looming government sequestration cuts are not likely to impact Paulding Airport, according to Blake Swafford, Paulding Airport director.

"We've looked into it and, in reality, it shouldn't have any impact at all to our facility," he said. "I understand there may be furloughs for FAA and TSA agents and that may delay review permits but we don't have any in the system right now.

"I heard they may be shutting down control towers but that is not likely to affect us," Swafford said. "The whole thing seems blown out of proportion but we won't know what will happen for sure until next week."
