The results in one Paulding County district weren’t too different from the will of the voters in neighboring Douglas County, as Bob Snelling carried both counties in his race to become the Republican nominee for House District 66.

In unofficial results reported by the Georgia Secretary of State’s office, Snelling earned more than 82 percent of the vote in his runoff against his fellow Republican, attorney Michael “Mike” Miller. Snelling had 2,037 votes to Miller’s 443.

In the Taylor Farm Park precinct, the only Paulding precinct impacting the District 66 race, in person voters favored Snelling over Miller, 332 to 65. Adding absentee voters, Paulding gave Snelling 419 votes to Miller's 90.

Snelling, a retired pilot, now moves onto the Nov. 6 general election to face Democrat Kimberly Alexander of Dallas. Alexander was unopposed in last month’s primary election.

District 66 consists of northern Douglas County and southern Paulding County.
