The Hiram Police have charged Lori Benson with 22 counts of theft by taking and 22 counts of possession of a controlled substance.

Lori Benson, a pharmacist technician of 12 years for Wal-Mart, has been charged with 22 counts of theft by taking and 22 counts of possession of a controlled substance.

The Hiram Police were called to the Hiram Wal-Mart in reference to an employee stealing medication. Benson was interviewed by loss prevention officers and she admitted to taking hydrocodone pills over a three month period. Wal-Mart loss prevention advised that the exact number of pills that she took were unknown but records show from the last month that over a hundred were missing from inventory. Benson was subsequently interviewed by Hiram Detectives in which she admitted to taking the hydrocodone pills but denied taking them for that length of time. Benson could not remember the number of pills that she took over that period.

Benson was charged with 22 counts of theft by taking and 22 counts of possession of a controlled substance. Benson is currently out on bond. Video of Benson committing the crime was taken into evidence.
