I saw the movie last night and feel that is the best Superman movie to date. The technology was notRead More there for the Christopher Reeve movies. The the Superman Returns movie should have stayed lost in space. The acting in this new one was excellent, the story was intelligent and engaging and the action kept the movie moving. When you sit thru a 2.5 hour movie and feel like it has only been 1.5 hours: it has kept you entertained ... isn't that why we go to the movies in the first place?

Yes. Thank you to all of the investors who are buying in my neighborhood and then renting theirRead More properties. To low class renters. Thank you so much. It makes for good neighbors and rising values - NOT!
Dave June 11, 2013 at 01:12 am
I may be one of those people you are disparaging. I buy foreclosures and a few short sales, makeRead More repairs and rent them. You may not like your neighbors, however, in many cases, they are the same people that lost houses. It's a much better situation than having neighborhoods scattered with empty, boarded up homes.

Both the bond market and housing markets will burst and crash by the end of September. Read the WSJRead More everyday and the tell ya!

Most mentally ill folks "self-medicate" by abusing alcohol and/or drugs. Therein lies theRead More problem. People need access to competent mental health professionals.

Charles dont use this forum to cry about your addictions. This is a serious issue, not your mirror.Read More Face those demons like a man. We are discussing why the government is making our people suffer needlessly. You may not understand this as you blame pot for your alcohol, and crack addictions. There are loads of Vets, elderly, disabled, sick, and injured that can benefit from this natural medicine. Instead it is used as a way to keep the black man down, and fill prisons for cash. Its a dirty, racist game these states play, and it costs us tax payers big! Do you pay taxes Chuck? If you do pay close attention. 50 billion dollars will be spent in the "War on Drugs" this year. That's your debt to repay to the tune of 15 trillion dollars in debt. That number is forecasting to double within the next three years. Marijuana is the largest cash crop in the world. With hemp plants growing as we speak this plant will save our corrupt, immoral, puss filled country from a catastrophic collapse.

I am torn on this decision. Even though homosexuality is a sin, it is no greater a sin than lyingRead More or cheating. If the troop had boys who were not Christian & they were committing those sins then that sin was being brought into the church. I think Christians need to remember that no one sin is greater than another. I think the parents of the boy scouts would have to determine if they wanted their child to participate in the troop if their was a homosexual in their group. However, the church hosted the Boy Scouts upon a certain charter. When that charter was changed then the church has the right to decide if they want to continue the association. I know of other churches that ended their hosting of Boy Scouts last year because the group was becoming too politically polarizing & they felt that conflicted with the ministry of the church. It is a fine line with views on both sides but I feel each church has to decide what is best for them...it is after all their facilities.

Do we not remember who Jesus surrounded himself with? Don't believe for one minute that there is notRead More one homosexual in your congregation, or for that matter an adulterer, a fornicator, a thief, a liar, the list goes on. And if you are a real stickler, any divorcee that has dated or remarried is committing sin every day. I do not believe in the gay lifestyle but I do believe in what good the boy scouts do. Shame on you for abandoning them when they need you the most

"Now You See Me" is illogical but entertaining non-sense. That about sums it up.

This is a just setup by a well known purveyor of addictive elixirs from a notoriously marijuanaRead More smoking, gay-pride parading, and women's liberating Blue State that's just about as Northern as one can get and not be the ironically fine State of Alaska. The setup is this: If you support someone's right to freely suck and blow things in public, how can you oppose another person's right to do so in private? Do not engage in this argument! It is meant to make you look like a fool! You've been warned.

in Colofornio you may smoke weed on the patio but you but only if your straight and not gay, youRead More may not carry a weapon within 25 feet, you may carry ammo if your gay friend carries a weapon in a recycled container. you can only drive electric vechile thru the drive thru and you must pay in pesos.....

I'd say heighten our security alert levels for all events nationwide since as a nation we have manyRead More enemies worldwide, including festivals, marathon races, all sporting events, everything were there is a large gathering of people.

I don't think there is any way to stop these things from happening. Or just stop everybody who hasRead More a backpack. There really is no way to watch everybody. There is a fine line between surveillance and rights to privacy and civil rights.
HeartDoc Andrew April 29, 2013 at 01:00 am
shares that the easy (Matthew 11:30) way to make sure our neighbors around us are in a right stateRead More of mind (i.e. neither homicidal or suicidal) is by simply asking them how they're doing and persisting past the "pat answer" to determining if they are able to say they are "wonderfully hungry" because homicdal/suicidal people cannot say they are "wonderfully hungry" because they'd definitely **not** be looking forward to their next meal. Those interested in learning more about this can view the hour-long network TV interview still airing at 11alive.com --> http://www.11alive.com/news/comments.aspx?storyid=251415

Except for times when messages through social media may stop something bad from happening, I can'tRead More think of anything good about letting children get on Facebook, text, or tweet. The internet is good for researching, but there is so much out there that you would never want your children to see and there really isn't a perfect way to prevent them from seeing everything. It irritates me to no end when I see kids in stores with their eyes and fingers glued to their cell phones, paying no attention to what is going on around them. Adults are just as bad. A lady walked into me yesterday because she was texting and not paying attention.
Adelaide Maisy March 25, 2013 at 06:46 am
Yes, they should be monitored. For those who say that kids also need privacy, there is the case ofRead More the unfortunate Amanda Todd. I watch who my son is talking to on Facebook using an app called Qustodio that allows me to view the profile pictures of accounts that he engages with. Such monitoring is for their own good. Qustodio is a nice app. Just Google for it.

I think most of us know that, but all of the Obama haters choose to blame him for everything.

I remember where I was when the towers were hit by the planes taken over by Muslim terrorists. IRead More remember that Hussein used gas WMDs to kill entire towns to include women and children. I remember Hussein attacking other countries for the purposes of expanding his empire because he believed he was Nebuchadnezzar reincarnated. I remember his 2 sons being so vile that fellow college students feared for their very lives and coeds were raped. I remember promises to bring our troops back. I remember promises to close GITMO. I remember when liberals used to oppose the Patriot Act, now they believe it doesn't go far enough and want drones to patrol our skies too. I remember things that transcend political rankling. Was it worth a war? Democrats and Republicans almost unanimously agreed back then. It was a time of unity. Gridlock and a slow process have their benefits. It is interesting how the truth gets lost in this back and forth. Democrats supported the war when it was popular. Republicans supported the Patriot Act before another president expanded it. It is interesting to remember how people's scruples change when a new president takes over the Oval Office.
Pam J March 25, 2013 at 02:28 pm
Greg, I have to disagree to a certain point. I didn't know one Democrat who thought the war was aRead More good idea. Sure, Hussein was a bad guy, but the United States is not the police department to the whole world. I think that most of us knew that the terrorists who attacked us were not there. I think that there was a less destructive way to take him out. Look at how we got Osama Bin Laden. It can be done. If you look at history, I think most wars have been started when a Republican was in office. Scruples? Not too many policiticians have any.
Greg T March 28, 2013 at 06:11 pm
That is a good point. Can you also agree that there is another group of people who commit massRead More murder yet don't use guns? Ever heard of suicide bombers? Just saying that taking guns away doesn't take violence away, or mass murder. Timothy McVae (spl?) in Oklahoma?
Lowell March 28, 2013 at 07:38 pm
Pam, why must the answer be your solution or no solution? That's rather closed-minded. My problemRead More with nearly all the proposed laws and changes is that, in fact, they would have done nothing if already enacted to change any of the mass shootings that are causing all the hand-wringing. Come up with something that actually addresses the problems and would have saved the victims and you'll get more support.
Pam J March 29, 2013 at 03:01 am
I agree that there are other ways that people are being killed, but a bigger number is by gun.Read More Unless you include planes flying into buildings. But that's terrorism. But the last time I looked, having and making bombs is illegal. Guns are not. The kids at Columbine were making bombs and I think they set a couple of them off, but everybody that died did so by gun. And Lowell, the only solution I have "proposed" is wider background checks. Is that wrong?

Cynthia Butler, then you may know Matt Barker. That's what he and his brother, Clinton, and theirRead More friends did also! They went down the long steep hill of Forest Hill Rd too. They said that was a blast. That was one fun snow storm in Powder Springs.
Debra March 19, 2013 at 06:27 am

I lived in Adairsville, Ga. at the time of the 1993 blizzard. I was 11 years old at the time and myRead More family and I had a blast trying to invent things to do, because we had no power. They need to be banning GMO foods as Russia did or passing laws which requires them to label whichRead More foods have been genetically altered as this is the real threat not a soda. It seems to me this is more about control and seeing just how far the public will allow the government to intrude of their lives even into their fridges
Pam J March 17, 2013 at 03:52 pm
Charles, I hope I never get diabetes either. Some people get diabetes regardless of their diet. MyRead More mother is borderline, but the doctor says it is controlled by her diet. Which is funny considering what she eats. Every person is responsible for what they do with their lives. I love Krispy Kreme doughnuts, but I also know they are bad for me. I have one every now and then because they have no health value whatsoever. I think that most people know that a big soda drink is not good for them. But it should be their choice, not the government's. Until we outlaw cigaretttes, leave everything else alone.
Pam J March 17, 2013 at 03:54 pm
Charles, I am sorry about your mother, but who exactly are you blaming for what happened to her?

Amazing that this is our legislative slate here in Georgia. Gambling for education fundingRead More controlled by a private Lottery, more guns in more places, removing income tax so we can pay fees elsewhere, restricting our ability to drive in the left lane at the speed limit, banning cell phones when driving instead of incorporating technology that would just turn them off while in movement or used in a holster (not the hands) - wasting taxpayer dollars while Georgia continues into decline.
