See how 11 local establishments fared in the food scores for May 12-18.
The following food and health scores were reported by Paulding County Environmental Health within the past few days. Environmental Health’s goal in rating establishments is to give the public the information needed to protect themselves from risk factors linked to illness or injury. Each item on an inspection form has a point value ranging from 1 to 9 points, with violations deducting points from a best possible score of 100. Higher points are taken for items with higher risk to cause illness, while repeat violations take more points. Letter grades assigned are A for totals of 100 to 90 points, B for 89 to 80, C for 79 to 70, and U for less than 70. Bentwater Golf Club Grille 100 Golf Links Drive, Acworth Last inspection: May 15. The Hiram business was this week’s Readers’ Choice winner.
Some may find it hard to choose a flavor at their favorite frozen yogurt place, but as far choosing their favorite destination goes, the choice must have been pretty easy for our readers this week. Yotropolis Frozen Yogurt & Smoothies was the hands-down favorite in this week’s Readers’ Choice feature. The fro-yo shop got an overwhelming 82 votes. Victoria Weinert with Yotropolis said Friday that the results show that the business has plenty of loyal customers. She says the store, which is family-owned, came about from their love of fro-yo shops and a desire to bring one to their home area. “We have found such a welcome here and strive to return the favor by giving back to the community as much as we can,” she says. We won't have a Readers…

Days after their numbers came up, Kenneth and Mary Davis of Dallas are $2 million richer. For matching the numbers 1-7-11-55-56, they won a $2 million prize. The Powerball in that drawing was 1, but the Davis’ ticket did not match that number drawn.
