The American Legion Post 294's annual Memorial Day Service will be held on Monday, May 28, at the Powder Springs Veterans Memorial in front of the Powder Springs Library on Atlanta Street. In case of inclement weather, the ceremony will take place inside the George Ford Center community room behind the library.
The guest speaker is LTC Greg McAfee, a Marietta native currently on active duty since 1986 when he received his commission from North Georgia College and State University.

More About Powder Springs Library
The Powder Springs Library moved to its current location in the Coach George E. Ford Cultural Arts and Community Center in January 2008; also at the site is a reception hall, senior center and soon-to-be-open cultural arts center.
The library houses a collection of more than 50,000 items. In addition to its collection, it offers reading groups and other activities. Adjoining the library is a public meeting room with a capacity of 50.
