Let me start by saying that 655 West is a very beautiful place. The grounds are maintained and offer beautiful ceremony sites. The ballroom is gorgeous and the Bridal suite is very nice and updated. However, although this venue had great pricing - I've learned that you get what you pay for. Communication is a HUGE issue. Since it is a family owned business (the owner lives on the property) it is very frustrating trying to reach someone. I constantly received conflicting information regarding pricing, use of rental items, etc. I would get a response from one person then receive a completely different response from another person. No one was on the same page about anything. Since I am very organized and detail specific this was a major problem. I was also planning my wedding from out of state so I stressed that contact was very important to me. It didn't seem to make a difference. I received numerous pricing quotes and had to correct them on multiple occasions. I had several meetings with the venue and details that I would mention would be forgotten. When I would ask for copies of paperwork, it seemed like I was burdening them and they would get an attitude with me about it. It seemed that they would change things on a whim based on their mood for that particular time which is obviously very unprofessional. Again, communication is the biggest problem so I would suggest that you maintain constant contact with them if you want to have peace of mind. Luckily, I had an amazing wedding planner who helped me. (They also say that they will assist in the planning of your wedding - this is FALSE). If you decide to book with 655 West, prepare yourself by making sure that you keep up with ALL paperwork & pricing information. You cannot rely on them to help you with anything. It is strictly a use of their facility (even though they claim to be a full service event planning venue). Had it not been for my meticulous planning, I do not feel my wedding would have been a success.
