When/Where: Saturday, 7 – 10 p.m., at Taylor Farm Park, 1380 Pine Valley Road, Powder Springs.

Why Go: Family fun watching “Despicable Me.” Bring your own lawn chairs, blankets and a picnic dinner.

An Evening with Elvis

When/Where: Saturday, 5 p.m., at Dallas Theater and Civic Center, 208 Main St., Dallas

Why Go: Features Jeffrey Cole as “Elvis” with the Rev. Johnny Turner and the Steadfast Quartet. Community showcase event before the concert from 5 to 6:30 p.m. that includes food and auction. Show at 7 p.m.

Pricing: General admission tickets are $20.

The 19th-Annual Georgia Fine and Collectible Book Fair

When/Where: Saturday, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., and Sunday, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.; Cobb County Civic Center, 548 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta.

Why Go: Sponsored by the Georgia Antiquarian Booksellers Association, 60 dealers will bring together over 10,000 rare books, manuscripts, autographs, prints and maps to the fair. Learning sessions for new collectors are available for paid patrons.

Dallas Dash

When/Where: Saturday, 7:45 a.m., in the parking lot of Dallas First United Methodist Church, 141 East Memorial Drive, Dallas.

Why Go: A 5K run, followed by a 1 mile fun run benefiting The River of Life. This is one of the last local races to prepare Peachtree Road Race participants.

Pricing: Race-day registration is $25. Awards will be given to all participants of the fun run as well as Top Male and Female Overall

Kennesaw Summer Concert Series

When/Where: Saturday, 8 p.m., at The Depot in Downtown Kennesaw, 2828 Cherokee St.

Why Go: “Almost Elton John & The Rocket Band,” a tribute band, will be performing. Bring a blanket or a comfortable chair and enjoy a concert under the stars.

Pricing: General admission is free. Tables of six can be reserved for $50.
