Bridal Show, Book Signing and Beauty Contests

The weekend is almost here and the weather will be perfect. Here are a few suggestions to break the winter blues and enjoy a little sunshine.

It is Thursday, and today's weather outlook for the next few days calls for beautiful weather in Paulding County. Of course, you want to get outside and enjoy the warmer temperatures. Here are five of the best choices for the weekend—even a few items for those couples that have to celebrate Valentine’s Day a few days late.

Where/When: Dallas Theater/Civic Center at 121 East Griffin St., Dallas; Saturday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Why go: For brides-to-be or mothers of brides-to-be, all aspects of a beautiful wedding will be available—photographers, florists, DJs and caterers.

Price: $5 admission

Where/When: The Bookworm Bookstore, 4451 Marietta St., Powder Springs; Saturday, noon to 2 p.m.

Why go? Book enthusiasts can purchase and get signed his new book, "The Image In The Mirror." After the book signing, brose the thousands of books for sale.

Where/When: Paulding Gymnastics, 106 Greystone Power Blvd., Dallas; Saturday, 7 to 11 p.m.

Why go: Great way for your kids to get some exercise, under supervision, while you enjoy a romantic night out together.

Price: $20 per child if pre-registered; $25 at drop off (sibling discounts offered)

Hike Along the Chattahoochee River

Where/When:  Sweetwater Creek State Park, 1750 Mt. Vernon Road, Lithia Springs; Sunday, 1-4 p.m.

Why go: There are two options available; on the 3-mile hike, you would learn about geology and how different rocks were formed. Or you can take a casual hike through the park without a guide.

Price: $5 admission to geology hike and $5 parking
