You won’t have to stray out of the city limits of Dallas or Hiram to get your fill of the Christmas season this weekend.
The first of two big events begins Friday at 6 p.m. with the city of Hiram’s seventh-annual Christmas Tree Lighting event. A live Nativity, live music and horse and carriage rides are among the attractions featured at the event, which will run until 10 p.m.

Downtown businesses will remain open during the event, and attendees will see the tree light up at 8 p.m.
The spirit of the holiday season continues in Paulding the next day, as the Rotary Club of Paulding County Inc. and Paulding County Civitan Club Inc. puts on the 20th-annual Invitational Christmas Parade in downtown Dallas.

Parking for the parade, which will begin at 1 p.m., will be limited, so those hoping to park near the event should plan to arrive early and bring a chair.
If we’ve missed mentioning a great holiday event this weekend, and you don’t see it in our events calendar, not to worry—it only takes a minute or two to post to our calendar. You can visit the events calendar page and click the “Add an Event” button on the right side of the page, or you can head directly to the new event page by clicking here.
Your posted event will go on the site immediately, and Dallas-Hiram Patch readers will be able to see it in our daily newsletter. You may even see your event featured on our Facebook page, our Twitter feed, or even on the front page of our site.
