Downtown Sales, Prescription Drug Take-Back and More On Tap Today

Here are a few things to know as you begin your Saturday.

1. Sunny skies and highs in the 80s are what are in store this weekend.

According to the National Weather Service, we’ll have sunshine and a high temperature near 81 today, with winds only picking up to 5 to 10 mph. We’ll see only a few clouds tonight with the low temperature dropping to the low 50s. Sunday will bring slightly warmer temperatures, with mostly sunny skies bringing us to about 83; the night’s low is expected to be about 57.

2. Downtown Dallas will be buzzing with activity today starting at 8 a.m. That’s your first opportunity to visit the Dallas Farmer’s Market in the parking lot of , the Downtown Dallas Merchant’s Association’s annual Citywide Yard Sale on Main Street, and the Paulding County Master Gardeners’ plant sale at the . 3. Just a short drive from downtown is the , where from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., authorities will be holding their annual prescription drug “Take-Back” program. The sheriff’s office along with the Haralson-Paulding Drug Task Force will be accepting potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs for destruction; the service is free and anonymous. .

4. Yet another event is happening today at in Dallas—the Paulding County Republican Party is accepting donations of cases of water to help those affected by the tornadoes and storms earlier this week. Officials will be accepting donations from 9 to 11:30 a.m.
