Dropping Temps, Possible Storms Ahead

The National Weather Service says Paulding residents could see strong and even severe storms tonight.

Today’s pleasant temperatures aren’t set to last, and their end could be heralded by thunderstorms.

According to the National Weather Service, today’s high is expected to hit near 75, but the warm temps will be coupled with winds around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Showers and thunderstorms are possible this evening, with weather officials warning that the storms could become strong or even severe. Cloud-to-ground lightning and hail are possible.

Showers are likely after 1 a.m., with the chance of precipitation at 70 percent. Residents tonight can expect winds around 10 mph with gusts as high as 20 mph.

On Friday, showers and thunderstorms are possible before early afternoon, with a slight chance of showers remaining in the afternoon. The winds won’t be going anywhere, with meteorologists calling for 10-15 mph winds, with gusts as high as 25 mph. The day’s high is expected near 58.

The mercury will drop back down to the freezing point Friday night, as the low is expected to hit 32 or so. Wind gusts as high as 20 mph will be possible.
