Five Things to Know Today: Jan. 12

1. It’s cold today. How cold is it? The National Weather Service late Tuesday said Paulding residents can expect the overnight low of about 19 degrees to increase to about 30 degrees at its warmest point today. That’s the warmest it is set to get until Friday, when forecasters expect that day’s high to reach 39.

2. Several county locations in the wake of this week’s winter weather. We updated our list of closings/delayed openings late Tuesday, and we’ll publish an updated list this morning if we receive word of any additions that need to be made.

3. We’ll continue to communicate with authorities to see if roads are safe to navigate, though they warned Tuesday that the low temperatures , slush and melted snow. If you must drive today, please be careful and allow extra time to get to your destination. You may also want to .
