Flash Flood Watch in Effect for Paulding

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch and hazardous weather warning for Paulding County and parts of Central and North Georgia until 8 a.m. Monday morning.

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch and hazardous weather warning for Paulding County of Central and North Georgia until 8 a.m. Monday morning.
According to the NWS, the combination of an approaching upper low pressure system and abundant moisture and nearly stationary front across south Georgia will result in the potential for heavy rainfall this afternoon.

Amounts of one to two inches of rain are expected with higher amounts possible. With saturated soils already in place, any heavy rainfall amounts will continue to provide a potential for flash flooding. Flash flooding could include rapid rises on area creeks, streams and rivers. Additionally, because of saturated soil, there is the potential for downed trees across the area.

A flash flood watch means conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding.
