Found on YouTube: Gold in Paulding County?

A YouTube user claims to have captured in their lens a shiny find from a local creek.

On occasion, we here at Dallas-Hiram Patch venture onto YouTube to find videos of local relevance.

A recent video that caught our eye was one uploaded by YouTube user pingdis on Dec. 2. The clip shows what appears to be a small gold nugget in a Paulding County creek. As of early Thursday, the video (which is attached to this article) had 46 views.

We’re not sure if the tiny, shiny rock is enough to bring prospectors in to start the “Great Paulding County Gold Rush of 2012,” and the video does not specify exactly where it was found. But if you’re up for taking up panning in Paulding’s bodies of water, more power to you.

We’ll try to keep an eye on YouTube for videos filmed by or starring locals. If you see any interesting ones we’ve missed, send us an email at jon.gargis@patch.com.
