2. Free 'Courageous' Movie Tickets on Saturday

Deal: An Austell church is giving away free tickets to "Courageous," a new film by two graduates of Cumberland Christian Academy in Austell. Dr. David O'Dell, pastor of First Baptist Church Austell, said the church has bought nearly 300 tickets for the 7:40 p.m. showing on Saturday at Regal Cinemas, 2480 East-West Connector, Austell.

"Courageous," written by brothers Stephen and Alex Kendrick, will debut Friday. Stephen produced the film; Alex directed and acts in the movie. Through Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany, the Kendricks also have made these movies - "Flywheel," "Facing the Giants" and "Fireproof." For "Courageous," the PG-13 storyline concerns police officers needing to be just as courageous at home as they are on the field.

Just as they paid tribute to their father, Dr. Larry Kendrick, in "Facing the Giants," they also acknowledge their father's courage in not only rearing them in a godly manner but founding Cumberland Christian Academy of which he has been the headmaster for the last 22 years. However, this year their father will transition to being the headmaster emeritus as he and his wife move to Albany to be near their three sons and their families.
