This week couples need go no further than Hiram or Dallas to enjoy an evening while helping two worthy causes.

Your teens are holding a car wash at the high school Saturday. The grandparents volunteered to take the younger children to a movie Sunday afternoon. Your tweens take tap on Wednesday evening. It’s your time. Take it.

Each week, we’ll tell you about great ideas to give you a much-deserved break and make your life a little easier—maybe a whole lot easier.

Care to Dance?

Also Saturday night but in Hiram, Che'ne Rouge will present The Family Alliance of Paulding Fourth-Annual Dinner Dance Fundraiser from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.

The Family Alliance of Paulding promotes enriching activities for women, men and their families in need. Among the programs is the Meth Alliance of Paulding, or M.A.P.

The Meth Alliance of Paulding is a community organization, including business people, law enforcement, a mayor, a state representative, lawyers, judges, PTA members and people who are concerned about what methamphetamine is doing to residents of our county, state and country. MAP's purpose is to organize, lead, support and coordinate citizens and professionals in an effort to end methamphetamine in Paulding through volunteer, community-based prevention programs, treatment programs, advocacy and increased public awareness and education and legislative efforts.

Che'ne Rouge Wedding and Special Events is located at 86 Poplar Springs Road off Jimmy Lee Smith Parkway (U.S. 278).

Those attending are invited to wear their favorite fashions from the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s or 1980s, while a DJ plays many hits from each of these decades.

Accompanying the Decade Dance will be silent auctions and drawings throughout the evening.

The evening's meal will be provided by Jim 'N Nick's Catering. Cocktails and hors d'oeuvres will be served beginning at 6 p.m. Dinner will be served at 7 p.m.
