Hiram Offers Rain Date for 'Red, White and Boom' Independence Day Celebration

Due to inclement weather, the City of Hiram postpone its Independence Day Celebration event.  The rain date has been set as Friday, September 6.

The City of Hiram is celebrating our nation’s independence with a boom – or as we call it, “Red, White and Boom.  The “Red, White and Boom” event and festivities will officially kick-off at 5 p.m. in the Ben Strickland, Sr. Memorial Park.

The park opens at 5 p.m. and admission is free.  Prior to the fireworks show, there will be vendors located throughout the park offering food and refreshments for sale.  While we prefer our residents and visitors patronize the local vendors and support the non-profits that will also be selling beverages, coolers with personal food and beverages are welcome. There will be no alcoholic beverages sold or permitted within the City Park.

This year’s Independence Day celebration will also feature live entertainment as Hiram welcomes back to the outdoor amphitheater stage, “Contagious.”    Contagious is loaded with a grooving' dance beat and a smoking' horn section! Contagious will blaze through your favorite hits from the 60s, 70s 80s and Motown era.

The City has contracted with East Coast Pyrotechnics to facilitate a premier fireworks show that will be visible from many locations within the City. East Coast Pyrotechnics is the Southeast's largest fireworks entertainment company providing outstanding fireworks displays at hundreds of exciting events each year.

The City will be providing shuttles to and from the park to various parking lots within the vicinity of the park.  Hiram Police Officers and Paulding County Deputies will be on-hand and very visible to assist with vehicular and pedestrian traffic, crowd control and compliance with State laws and local ordinances.  Normal traffic patterns will be adjusted to facilitate a safer route to and from the park and surrounding streets.
