Brothers Jaylon and Johnnie Gordon recently traveled with their family from Dallas to attend a professional photo shoot in Charlotte, N.C., as winners of ’ “Models Wanted” contest. Selected from among 2,200 applicants, they modeled a variety of footwear and are now featured in Rack Room Shoes’ Back to School advertising campaign.
For the past several years, Rack Room Shoes has hosted its “Models Wanted” contest, in which real customers become stars in advertising campaigns. The Gordon brothers received celebrity treatment at the photo shoot and were also able to spend time with their family while staying at the Great Wolf Lodge.
The two will be featured in newspaper inserts, on the company’s website and throughout in-store signage in the shoe retailer’s 385 locations during Rack Room Shoes’ Back to School promotion, which began Tuesday, July 17.
“We’ve been able to meet so many of our loyal customers through our ‘Models Wanted’ contest and will continue to host this very successful program,” said Jan Mauldin, Director of Marketing for Rack Room Shoes, in a news release. “Johnnie and Jaylon encouraged each other every step of the way during the photo shoot and we’re so excited they have become part of the ‘Models Wanted’ family.
Back to School Photo Contest promises five $10,000 computer lab grants
During the Back to School campaign, Rack Room Shoes is also hosting its second-annual Back to School Photo Contest, which will award five computer lab grants—valued at $10,000 each—to winning schools. Individuals who submit the winning contest entries will also receive a MacBook Pro laptop to take home.
The contest runs through Monday, Aug. 13, and individuals are encouraged to upload their favorite school pictures online at Rack Room Shoes’ Facebook page, www.facebook.com/myrackroomshoes or on the regional shoe retailer’s website at www.rackroomshoes.com to enter.
Any school photo—from the first day of school to graduation or anything in between—can be submitted.
