One Ticket, Seven Figures for Dallas Woman

Charlotte Black, a 61-year-old Dallas resident, wins $1 million after buying a ticket from a convenience store in nearby Powder Springs.

Charlotte Black, a 61-year-old Dallas resident, won $1 million from an Extreme Green scratch-off ticket she bought a convenience store in Powder Springs.

“It feels wonderful,” Black, a housewife, mother and grandmother, told the Georgia Lottery.

Black scratched the ticket in the store’s parking lot and went inside to confirm the news, according to a release from the Georgia Lottery. The release does not say when the ticket was purchased, but the photo handed out with the announcement includes a big check with a date of March 24.

Representatives from the lottery were not immediately available.

“It’s a good thing the store wasn’t crowded because I was screaming,” Black said.

Black and her husband, David, a Georgia Power control wireman, are deciding how to use the winnings.
