Paulding Volunteers Keep Helping Storm Victims

Chattahoochee Technical College, the Paulding GOP and West Ridge Church are among those organizing efforts to help many in Georgia and Alabama with their recovery from last week's tornadoes.

As soon as the tornado devastation became apparent, Paulding residents took action, and they continue to do so.

Paulding Sheriff Gary Gulledge said the Catoosa County Sheriff's Office in Ringgold is sending all of its requests for supplies through the Red Cross

Team members will be traveling to Tuscaloosa, said Paul Richardson, outreach missions pastor for the church.

Paulding GOP

The group's corresponding secretary, Marcia Evans, sent an email the evening of the storms to announce last Saturday's collection drive.

Joseph Gullett, 2011-13 chairman of the Paulding County Republican Party, said at least 44 cases of water, 10 gallon jugs, $85 and probably 125 huge boxes of donated items were driven from the parking lot at Ga. 92 and 120 to northwest Georgia.

donated a truckload of boxes, said Marcia Evans with the Paulding GOP.

"Some of our folks took that message to their churches to get donations in through this week," Evans said. "Stars and Strikes also had a box set up for donations, and we told them any late arrivals with donations could just be added to their supplies."
