High Winds Briefly Down Power Lines, No Major Storm Damage

High winds Tuesday night briefly downed a few power lines and a tree but there was no major storm damage in Paulding County.

Powerlines were down on Fate Fuller Rd., and a tree was in the roadway at Highway 120 and Paul Harris Rd., closing both lanes of Buchanan Highway for a short amount of time but there was no serious damage in Paulding County Tuesday night, according to MaryAnn Phipps, coordinator/PIO
Paulding County, Fire/Rescue and Emergency Management Agency.

WIth winds of 15 to 25 mph and gusts up to 40 mph, the National Weather Service warned that small trees in saturated soils and drought-stressed trees may be toppled.

Phipps said there are no current weather hazard alerts for Paulding County but the County will get a weather update during their weekly conference call with the National Weather Service on Thursday. The County will update residents on any approaching weather hazards at that time.
