Pull Out the Sweaters: Freeze Warning Issued for North Georgia

Overnight temps are expected to dip below freezing.

Mother Nature is throwing Georgia a curveball tonight, with overnight temps expected to dip below freezing.

The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a Freeze Warning tonight for most of north Georgia, including all Patch communities.

The freeze warning is in effect from midnight to 9 a.m. Wednesday, April 16, and includes  Barrow, Bartow, Cherokee, Clarke, Cobb, Douglas, Forsyth, Fulton, Gwinnett, Oconee, Paulding and Walton counties.

The weather service says tender vegetation outdoors should be covered.

Overnight lows are expected to be in the upper 20s to low 30s, according to the weather service.

A wind advisory also is effect today until 10 p.m., with winds gusting to 40 mph.
