(Updated 8:32 p.m.)

The NWS also says showers and thunderstorms remain likely, mainly before 2 a.m., and north and central Georgia could see isolated severe storms, the effects of which could include isolated tornadoes, hail and/or frequent lightning.

The north and central part of the state also remains under a wind advisory until 10 p.m. with southwest winds about 20 mph and gusts as high as 35 mph. NWS officials warn that winds of that speed could make driving dangerous, especially for those in high-profile vehicles.
