Write Water Essay, Win Cash
Sixth, seventh and eighth graders in Paulding County are eligible to enter before Friday, Oct. 18.
A 2013 Water Essay Contest, sponsored by the Metropolitan North Georgia Water Planning District, will pay the district-wide winner $500 Cash and county winners $100 Cash.
The deadline to enter is Friday, Oct. 18.
Sixth, seventh and eighth graders in Bartow, Cherokee, Clayton, Cobb, Coweta, DeKalb, Douglas, Fayette, Fulton, Forsyth, Gwinnett, Hall, Henry, Paulding and Rockdale counties are invited to participate in the Metro Water District’s annual essay contest.

Essay Topic: Water Conservation
Students should write a 300-500 word essay that addresses the following question:

Why is water conservation important to you and our region?
As you write your essay consider how water impacts your family, our region and the environment.
Guidelines
Essays must be legible and either typed or in pen on white paper.
Each essay must be submitted with an entry form. All essays must be received no later than

Prizes
One county winner from each of the 15 counties and the City of Atlanta will receive $100. The District-wide winner will be selected from among the county and city winners to receive a grand prize of $500.
Judging
Entries will be judged on their creativity, clarity and content. Essays without complete name and contact information will be disqualified.
Awards Reception
County and City of Atlanta winners will be notified November 1st. An awards reception will be held in the South Wing of the Georgia Capitol on Thursday, Nov. 14 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. District-wide winner and runner-up will be announced at the awards reception.
