Explore Hispanic/Latino Culture at the University of West Georgia

UWG's Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures celebrate Hispanic/Latinos,  Wednesday, Oct.  19 in the Campus Center. Events for the day:

  • 9 a.m. HBO documentary: The Fence. This is a short documentary on the controversy surrounding the construction of the fence along the Mexico-U.S. border. Campus Center (108.1)
  • 10 a.m. John Jaramillo: Flamenco Dance of Spain. Jaramillo is a nationally-recognized performer who specializes in flamenco and Aztec dance. Campus Center (108.2)
  • 11 a.m. Carol Subiño: Afro-Son Fusion in Xalapa, Veracruz, Mexico. Subiño is a member of the Anthropology Department at UWG. Campus Center (108.1)
  • 12 p.m. Jerry González, presentation on Georgia’s recent immigration law. Mr. González is president of the Georgia Association of Latino Elected Officials. (Campus Center 108.2)
