Paulding Photography Club Meeting

 ,   Add to calendar
122 Main St Dallas GA 30132  See map

The Paulding Photography Club meets the 2nd and the 4th Thursday of every month.  We are open to all people interested in photography, be it an amateur with a point and shoot camera or a professional with the best equipment money can buy.

Our first meeting each month is a informational meeting where we have either a guest speaker or discuss and learn different aspects of photography.  This year this includes topics such as shooting at night and long exposures, special editing techniques on the computer, and many more.

Our second meeting each month is a photo contest.  Each member brings in up to 3 photos in color and up to 3 photos in black and white that are based on that months theme.  We then have a respected member of the photography community judge each group of photos and award the top photos.  Theme examples this year are "Song Titles", "Doors and Windows", "Sunrises and Sunsets", "Portraits and Candids", and many more.

We also have many other activities that help expand the horizons of photographers.  We aim to have a field trip of some sort each month that can take us anywhere from beautiful cemeteries, to parts of Atlanta, the Zoo, or other beautiful places locally to photograph.

Every summer we participate in the Scott Kelby's Worldwide Photowalk http://worldwidephotowalk.com.   We also participate in the North Georgia Shootout, in which most of the Camera Clubs around North Georgia meet at a picturesque location to shoot photos of 5 random subjects in a 2-3 hour period and submit them for judging against hundreds of other photographers.

We hold countywide photography contests each year that are displayed in the Dallas Civic Center and encourage all members to participate in many other contests we inform our members of as well.

All people interested in Camera and photography are welcome to come visit our club.

Membership is $20 a year.  And allows for entry into monthly contests, attendance of annual christmas part, all online resources, as well as all of the fun that comes along with the photography community and our club.

I am torn on this decision. Even though homosexuality is a sin, it is no greater a sin than lyingRead More or cheating. If the troop had boys who were not Christian & they were committing those sins then that sin was being brought into the church. I think Christians need to remember that no one sin is greater than another. I think the parents of the boy scouts would have to determine if they wanted their child to participate in the troop if their was a homosexual in their group. However, the church hosted the Boy Scouts upon a certain charter. When that charter was changed then the church has the right to decide if they want to continue the association. I know of other churches that ended their hosting of Boy Scouts last year because the group was becoming too politically polarizing & they felt that conflicted with the ministry of the church. It is a fine line with views on both sides but I feel each church has to decide what is best for them...it is after all their facilities.

Do we not remember who Jesus surrounded himself with? Don't believe for one minute that there is notRead More one homosexual in your congregation, or for that matter an adulterer, a fornicator, a thief, a liar, the list goes on. And if you are a real stickler, any divorcee that has dated or remarried is committing sin every day. I do not believe in the gay lifestyle but I do believe in what good the boy scouts do. Shame on you for abandoning them when they need you the most
