Go Fly a Kite, on March 9

Go fly a kite with the Paulding County Parks and Recreation Department on March 9 or register now for 'I Want to be a Fireman,' being held on March 8.

On Saturday, March 9 families are invited to join the Paulding County Parks and Recreation Department for the 11th annual Family Fun Flyers at White Oak Park.  This is a free kite flying competition for all ages with awards for the oldest kite flyer, youngest kite flyer (who can fly their own kite), most unique kite, and highest in flight. 

Registration is the day of with sign in time at 12:30 p.m. and the competition starting at 1 p.m. Participants must furnish their own kite.

I Want to be a Firefighter-Saturday, March 16 at Burnt Hickory Park from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Children start out at Burnt Hickory and will learn about fire safety, read a story, and do a fire safety related craft. Then everyone heads to the fire station. From there children ages 3 to 6 will get to see where the firefighters live, climb aboard the fire truck and finish up with punch and cookies with the firefighters. 

It’s never too early to teach a child about fire safety and what better way then with the help of your local firefighters presented in a fun and educational format! Registration going on now until through March 8.
