Hiram Guy to Perform in 'Unto These Hills'

Hiram resident Benjamin Sims will be playing Major Ridge, Euchella in the long-running outdoor drama, “Unto These Hills.”

Ben attends Young Harris College and is pursuing a degree in Musical Theatre. While attending high school he performed in the drama department’s yearly productions. He also performed in the Cobb County area with different acting troupes such as Curtain Call Youth Players and Cobb Children’s Theatre. His hobbies and interests include swimming, movies, eating different kinds of food and socializing.

Ben says that acting and singing are his passions and his outlets and career. He’s excited to be living and breathing his dream and looks forward to a great season with Unto These Hills.

Unto These Hills” is a breathtaking drama that has been seen by more than six million people since its debut in 1950. Set in a lush mountainside amphitheater, the script was updated in 2008 to provide the audience with a historically accurate show that is told through the eyes of the Cherokee people, a story rich in tradition and culture. Ben belongs to The Cherokee Historical Association (CHA), which produces the drama.

Unto These Hills” is presented nightly except Sundays from now through Aug. 17. Pre-show entertainment begins at 7:30 p.m. and the show opens at 8 p.m.
