Dallas Sponsoring 'Race for a Cure' 5K

The March 17 event will benefit Paulding County Relay for Life and the American Cancer Society.

The city of Dallas is sponsoring the inaugural Dallas Race for a Cure 5K run/walk on Saturday, March 17. All proceeds will go toward Paulding County Relay for Life and the American Cancer Society.

Participants may register for $20 before March 1 and $25 thereafter. Registration packets are available at Dallas City Hall, online at cityofdallasga.com and attached to this article, and at Big Peach Running Co. in Kennesaw. Registration forms can be dropped off or mailed to Dallas City Hall at City of Dallas, Attn: Dallas 5k Run/Walk, 129 E. Memorial Drive, Dallas, GA 30132.

Race-day registration starts at 7:30 a.m. in the parking lot of Dallas City Hall. The race begins at 8 a.m. and the walk at 8:30.

Each participant is set to receive a bag containing a T-Shirt and other items. Water and snacks will be provided on the day of the event. Bags will be available for pickup starting at 7:30 a.m. on race day. T-shirts cannot be guaranteed for those registering on the day of the race.

Awards will be given to the overall male and female runners, and the top three runners in all age groups.
