Banks, Governments Closed, But School In Session

Here are five things you need to know as you begin what may be a holiday for you.

1. Today is observed as Washington’s Birthday, and as a result, banks and government offices are closed until Tuesday; the latter group also includes post offices.

2. One government entity running as normal, however, is our local public school system. Paulding County Schools will , though the district originally had been scheduled to hold its winter break—last month’s winter weather, however, led officials to use this week to makeup lost class time.

3. Whether you’re out of work or going to school, the weather you can expect will be the same. The National Weather Service says you should expect patchy fog before 8 a.m., then mostly cloudy skies with a high temperature near 68 degrees. There is a 40 percent chance of showers tonight, mainly after 1 a.m., with an expected low a shade under 50 degrees.
